On the Drawing Board

BLOGGER FRIEND SCHOOL

Assignment #19 - “On the Drawing Board”

This week’s assignment is to post a picture of one your family’s/child’s art projects or drawings. Be even more daring and post one of your own! Journal about the project.

Artistic talent manifests itself in various ways. If you were to go to my mom’s house, you might find a few of my early attempts of creativity. There is a rock that I painted in 4th grade. It was supposed to be a paper weight but I forgot to bring a rock to school. The only one my teacher had was huge. My mom has been using it as a door stop ever since. I decided long ago that drawing and painting were not my talent.

My children are busy discovering their own abilities. Currently, all their projects are packed safely in a box so I will display what is already on the computer.

Gabriel enjoys drawing, mainly with pencil or pastels. Here is Obiwan Kenobi that he drew in the fall of 2005.

Hannah is pursuing a hobby in photography. She took a picture for the Photo Friday meme where she had to find something “strange”. She decided on some paper mache puppets that we made a few years ago but never finished.

Holly likes to paint. She was able to attend a painting class at the museum here in Constanta. Unfortunately, it was on Saturday and Sunday mornings so she did not go as often as we would have liked. Here is a picture she did there which she entitled “Hawaii”.

This was a fun assignment. I am pleased with their efforts in their art work. Do you have a budding artist in your family?

Gabriel's drawing looked so much like one of my roomates in college that I had to look a second time.

Hello, I have been reading through some of your old posts, and I have been enthralled by your journey. Your feeling of change and your explanation of how God is leading you is so similiar to my own path, currently. We too have been praying and fasting so that the Lord can continue to show us His will. Thank you so much for sharing this intimate part of your journey. I will be back to read more, and to find out where the Lord leads you.

Hi Karen!
I am so sad that you are leaving HSB, but I will definitely come over here to see you too!
Beautiful artwork! How neat that they each express themselves differently in art. My kids like different ways of creativity too.(westiecrew)

Hi there,
I finally figured out how to join so I can post comments here. (0= Wow ! your children are so talented ! I was so involved in art. Seattle Art Institute wanted me but alas I listened to my mom saying artists starve. So the rest is history. But I never gave up art. Over the years I have changed my medium. I am coming back to my drawing once again. I was like your ds who likes detailed pictures by pencil. I hope this year to get back into it. Maybe I can post a few.
God Bless my SSiC

Enjoyed your artists work!
Like you I'm not a talented artist and enjoy allowing my children to shine as the Lord guides them.

I will be praying for you,
the Lord's strength and peace.

Blessings to you and yours,
Linda

Very talented. I could totally tell that was Obi-wan.

The puppet heads are funny. We may have to try the papier mache again and actually do puppet heads instead of just a big balloon.

Wonderful creativity from Holly. Great job.
