Answers to the Party Game

#1 I have eaten alligator - True! In 1995 I broke my life long vow to never eat reptile when we went to Louisiana. We went to dinner with another couple and they ordered appetizers for everyone to try – fried and blackened. The fried was gross, tasteless and chewy. The blackened tasted like chewy pork chops. It’s not anything I’ll order again.

#2 I live in a country where everyone dresses modestly.(Romania) - False! Is this your image of Romania? I think it is for most people and people do still dress this way. But the norm is, especially for those 40ish and under, the more skin the better. I cannot post a picture of many of the people we see around town because my blog would no longer be family friendly.

#3 I have sung on the stage of The Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee - True! It was in 1990. I went with my husband, cousin and her husband who worked at the radio station there. He gave us a tour of the Grand Ole Opry and I stood on the stage and sang a song. It was just the four of us and it wasn’t even a whole song but it did happen.

Congrats to Breyasmommy, Garnet, Mikki and Lauren S. for guessing correctly! That was fun. Who else has a game to play? I'd love to do another one.

Okay, I guess that's what happens when you are swayed by the crowd! LOL

I, too, have eaten alligator, but I don't remember it tasting THAT bad.

Anyway, that was fun... Maybe I'll have to steal your idea. You just may see a "2 Truths and A Dare" up at my party!!

This whole party thing is a blast, however I'm afraid I'll want to party all day! Nah, my kids are more fun!!

Wow, I'm surprised about the Romanian dress. Yes, I did picture it like your photos. Since you sang at the Grand Old Opry, maybe I should ask for your autograph - what next, American Idol? LOL Don't you think you should have told your dad? teehe

My, things are moving fast with your move. I will be praying for good weather and that all will go well Monday.
Blessings, Jane

I think I have eaten gator . . . I think. But my mommy brain wonders if I am only imagining it. God bless you and your family as you prepare to move back to the states! Oh, and thank you for serving our Lord in Romania.

I too have eaten alligator. My couin-in-law is a police officer in New Orleans - we were treated to it in sausage for at one of his haunts. We also had turtle soup.

May God bless ya' all in this transition time. I pray that your kids will find their place as you all find a new home.

Thanks for stopping by my blog - boy you are busy! I'll pray for you that you have a easy move back to the states.

I haven't done any cakes for my older kids, but my 17 yo was commenting how he never got a cake like that when he was little...lol! Maybe he'd like on when he turns 18...somehow I doubt it.

I'm going to go now and read more of your blog.

Thanks for stopping by the House o' Glamour in the middle of your packing. I wish that I would have found your blog when you were still living in Romania. I love to read blogs from American families living elsewhere in the world. It is one of my dreams that will have to be satisfied for the time being through others experiences. Good luck on the packing, moving and finding a place to call home in the US. There are several houses for sale on my street!

Karen, this looks like a fun blog. I have friends who are missionaries in Croatia, previously in Czech. They're with Josiah Venture. Anyway, nice to come here and I'm looking forward to reading more. Plus you gave me some ideas for party games!

What a fun game! I have eaten alligator at the Minnesota State Fair, and it was good, but not something I'm going to go looking for. I've also had squid, which is good if its prepared right. I WON'T eat oysters or anything like that, thanks.
