Packing Party
I am having so much fun at this Packing Party. I did tell you it’s a Packing Party didn’t I? We have had introductions and some fun games and now it’s time to get to work! I hope you wore work clothes and not your Sunday best. Roll up your sleeves, find a packing gun or the dolly and let’s go!
John and I have been busy this afternoon with last minute details. Curtains have come down and packed in a box. John and Gabe are packing up our mattress as I type. My computer will probably be whisked away from my fingers shortly. Thankfully, we will still have the laptop. Packing is hard. It is more difficult when your husband has a different method or idea of how things should be done. Never mind that his way is probably better. For some really outrageous fun, try packing to please the Romanian Customs officials. We have packed and labeled everything the way we think that they want it. The paper work is the way it was when we came here five years ago. Rules have a way of changing daily around here.
The weather is only a bit more predictable than dealing with customs agents. This past week we have had rain every morning and sunshine in the afternoon. Tomorrow we need sunshine while we load the container. Please pray for good weather.
Tomorrow evening I will post some pictures of the chaos whole ordeal, if I find time to snap some pictures, if the camera doesn’t get packed and if I can still put together an intelligible sentence. You can join us then too for a celebration, complete with my son’s favorite pizza. Thanks for all your help!

How fun! I love packing parties! I am glad you reminded me to roll down my sleeves. Whew! I forgot how much work that is. I am eager to see where you path leads you and hope to keep up with your travels. Will you be able to continue blogging. Take care and hope all goes well with the Romanian Customs.
If you get a chance drop by our warm tropical beach party!
Ummm...can I be excused? I have a doctor's note. Nice how two total hip replacements get me out of a lot of that stuff :-)
I haven't been here before but looked around enough to see that you've been in Romania and you're headed back to the US...were you with a mission there? And where in the US are you going to be settling? I'd love to hear more about you but didn't find anything on your profile.
Karen, I hope your move goes smoothly and that God makes it clear how you're to serve Him moving forward!
Hi Karen, thanks so much for stopping by my blog party! I don't know how you are finding the time to do this when you are about to move to a new country! And Romania, wow. You must have some interesting stories to tell. I've enjoyed meeting you today and I'll be back!
Missionaries, you are my heroes. I desire to travel to different countries bring Christ to the nations, but I am not sure if I could do long term. My parents are in the process of starting their missionary journey. Some time this year, they will be moving to Kenya to be directors of a children's home. I am very excited for them, but also a little sad. Thank you for taking the time out of your life let others in. I am bookmarking you and adding you to my blogroll. I want to know where you go and how life works out for you and your family.
I'm not the best at "packing" but I'd love to help a friend. I'll put my shoes on and be right over!
BTW - I have another game going - but not one that we can both do. If I find one I promise to share!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I was pleased to visit you back and see that you are missionaries. My parents were missionaries in Brazil for a little over 15 years. Me, my brother and sister were all born there.
May God continue to bless your work. I'll be checking back in on you often!
Tracey
Okay, very important: make sure you did not pack all your underwear in the container to be shipped! Don't laugh, my dad did that to us once. We didn't talk to him for a week. Hang in there, girl!

P.S. I've been wondering - did you find a home for you cat?
What a crazy time for you all, but it sounds like everything is getting done. Hope you get landed safe and sound... somewhere. :-)
Hey Karen,
I encountered your name through the "Party" but I already know you from homeschoolblogger! So what a lovely surprise running into you this way.
I've been reading your posts for a long time and I must say that often I've thought your life must be incredibly interesting and much more exciting than mine. What with all the moving and travelling?! But, tonight I felt compassion for you...so much moving, packing, emotion...
Praying for peace and resting in Him throughout the packing and moving. He is faithful and He will take care of you. He knows exactly where you'll be living even though you may not yet.
Your in my thoughts, Jan
Hope the packing went well this morning, Romania is ahead of the states, time wise, isn't it??? Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I'll help pack - no problem. Can't wait for the pictures. Sounds like most of the hard stuff is now behind you. God bles you Karen.
