Thirteen Things We Just Had to Have

THURSDAY THIRTEEN EDITION 38

Our container arrived today!! We were excited and relieved to have that part of our move over with. We had nice weather this morning and plenty of guys to help us unload everything into the storage building. I was relieved to discover that my mirrors on my wardrobe and the shelves in the fridge had not broken. The fridge hadn’t molded either. Most everything went into storage but here is a list of 13 things that we brought back to my parents’ house because felt we couldn’t live without them any longer

  1. My computer – no more sharing the laptop
  2. My monitor – kind of need that to go with the computer
  3. 2 desk chairs – because we’ve been using my mom’s kitchen chairs
  4. 4 bicycles – for fun
  5. A bunch of DVDs – can’t live without those, can we?
  6. Hannah’s bean bag chair – just because she wanted it
  7. European A-4 sized paper – the kids started notebooks with European supplies and need the paper to finish out the school year.
  8. Tennis rackets – for more fun
  9. A jump rope – think we might get some exercise!
  10. 2 laundry baskets – my mom doesn’t use any. I don’t know how she functions!
  11. Rack for drying clothes – my mom has 2 but they are falling apart
  12. 3 sleeping bags – we have company coming and some of the kids will sleep on the floor.
  13. A wooden puzzle piece to our state map puzzle – it’s the state of Massachusetts. Hannah found it on the ground. I am wondering what happened to the rest of the puzzle.

What? how can your mom do laundry without baskets? Seriously? What does she do?

I have too many baskets. And too many clothes. Which allows me to let them pile up until I've got over a week's worth of laundry, for 8 people, to fold.

That's funny about 'lollygagging' - I'm not sure where I got the word from ... my parents are from Wisconsin; is your dad, also?

Karen! I'm making the TT rounds tonight - for the first time in weeks - and had to stop by. Soooo happy your container arrived today. What would we do without our "stuff"? Have fun sorting through it all and I hope the rest of your week is grand!

My MIL doesn't use laundry baskets, either. I thought I was the only one who can't function without one!

I went back and looked at the packing job of the container. You did a great job of finding the stuff you wanted. That's a lot of stuff to pack and unpack.

For #13 - Do you recall ever having the rest of the puzzle? I remember my sister used to bring bits and pieces of toys home that she'd found outside on the ground. Used to drive my mom batty trying to figure out where they came from...

I hardly ever use laundry baskets.. well wait.. I do I use them i fold the cloths put them in the baskets and there they sit forever LOL.. so my baskets always seemed filled with somthing be it clean cloths or toys I threw in them while picking up the floor.. so when I'm doing landry they aren't easy to use so I don't use them. My Grandma wonders how I funtion also ;)
Great TT

How does your mom do laundry without a basket?
Glad you got your stuff. I never thought about school supplies being different in other countries. I am so sheltered!

What a relief to have your belongings back. I'm sure that just having the few items that you took out will make you feel more comfortable until you're finally settled.

God bless,
