Show and Tell Friday - Hannah

Last time for show and tell Friday, I showed off Gabe's talents. I thought I'd share Hannah's today. My mom received a rag time quilt from a friend for Christmas and Hannah decided that she wanted to make one for herself. She didn't want it to be just a throw but she wanted it to be large enough to fit a twin sized bed. We bought the fabric and started on it before Christmas. Then we returned to Romania and it was set aside for a while. Hannah worked on it here and there when we came back to the states and finished it while John and I were in Virginia in June. She knew she had to get it done while we were at my mom's because my sewing machine doesn't work. A huge thanks to my mom for all the guidance, assistance and instruction! Not to mention the use of her machine! Thanks mom!!

I have a lot of respect for anyone who can operate a sewing machine. I just got my first (belonged to my husband's grandma) and I don't know how to turn it on! That is my winter project. :-)
What a beautiful, colourful quilt!! My dd is learning to sew. Maybe I'll have to Show & Tell some of her creations.
How wonderful. Your daughter must be so proud to have completed it! Great Job!!
Blessings,
Rosina
How wonderful! She did a great job! I sure wish I had started when I was younger, now I'm playing catch-up on learning the sewing skills!
Blessings!

I love the colors, great job! I always tell myself that I will make a quilt one day. Of course, not this day :)
Wow! That looks fantastic. I've made a few rag quilts~ I love them! Ashley is now begging for one for her bottom bunk also~ so that may be a birthday or Christmas gift. Gee~ so much to do, so little time!
Love the colors!
Heidi
That's a fantastic quilt!! I love the color combos she chose.
Applause for Quilt!!
I never made a quilt, don't know much about colors or patterns. I did note however, that it seems that a block or two were out of sequence. Or perhaps that's just my old eyes! (I teased Hannah and Dixie when they were making the quilt about that.) Great job Hannah! You truly are an artist! I like your room setup too.
Keep up the good work,
Love, Papa Andy
I noticed that Hannah is using scissors to cut her fringe. A rotary cutter may help her hand not get as tired when she makes her next one. And Joann's Fabrics also has a stencil to help the cutting go even faster. It loves so lovely on her bed.
