Substitute Job
I have secured my first substitute job. It's at Holly's school which is extremely convenient. This particular class may be a bit of a challenge. It's a special needs class with 11 students grades kindergarten through second. There are four teacher aids. Four! Is that a good thing or just plain scary? The school secretary took me to the classroom yesterday morning to meet the teacher and see the class. It looked like an ordinary classroom in those brief moments. Stay tuned to see how it goes! I'll be there on September 24th. Hopefully I'll get some jobs for next week as well.
This morning I am going to a brunch with some ladies at my church. (We haven't actually joined yet but I'm claiming it anyway.) It is hard to believe that only six months ago we landed in the states. So much has happened over the last weeks and months. Life, although it's busier than ever, is settling down into a bit of a routine. Now if I could only find some time to clean the apartment!

I am glad that you are feeling somewhat settled now. I hope that your first subbing job will be a good experience, Karen.
I'm glad you got a job. I'm sure more will come for you.
Hi Karen!! Your job sounds like it will be very challenging. I'm not sure which would be harder, to be a substitue teacher or a constant one. I'm sure you will do great!
Abiding in the Vine!
How cool that it is at Holly's school. Let us know how it goes...
Congrats on the job! Hope you have a wonderful time at your brunch, and glad to hear things are settling down a bit for you.
As to "the beast", he's been put away, literally for years! With finances being tight this year, I decided to torture (apply??) myself and try to make most of our gifts. ;)
Hello there, I was reading my friend Pam's blog - she is an American Missionary in Germany and I thought this post of hers might be of interest to you
