Around the House
The weather has turned wintery with temperatures below freezing yet we still haven't felt the need to turn the heat on. We did have to don sweaters and warm slippers and curling up under a warm blanket now seems like a good idea. The indoor thermometer says 68 which is actually warmer than we were accustomed to in Romania.
Yesterday, I was able to get some work done in the girls' room. They had one small dresser to share with drawers deep enough to hold a couple of tee shirts. I had them use it for PJ's, socks and underclothes. Tee shirts, blue jeans and other articles of clothing all had to be hung in their closet. It was one crowded closet. Add to that the toys, purses and an entire array of paraphernalia that they "need" and the closet was one colossal mess. Well, we were able to get the girls their own chest of drawers. I moved the small dresser into the hallway where it still holds the PJ's and etc. I filled up Holly's chest of drawers and went to work on the closet. The room now looks terrific and heaven help the person who messes it up! I am working diligently with Holly on putting back what she gets out. Something I obviously failed to do somewhere along the way. Now if I could only figure out how to get her to do a decent job on making up her bed, which is the top bunk.

It must have been really cold in Romania to still not turn on the heat. I'm afraid I'm used to the warmer climate of Ga., so I'm freezing! It looks like you are making lots of progress organizing the kids rooms. Have a wonderful weekend.
Cute Dressers! They must be so thrilled! I know what you mean about teaching them to keep things tidy. I don't know where my youngest learnt (or didn't learn) to fold clothes, it must have been from the wrinkle-lovers magazine.
And 68? My energy-mizer dh sets our thermostat at 64. Sweaters are not optional. teehe. Have a good day/weekend dear.
good work!
man, making up top bunks is hard! I get frustrated with my top bunkers and climb up there to "show them how to do it right" and realize it's hard. LOL.
68 is what I "bump" our thermostat up to when I'm cold. I'm always cold.
I just showed my DH the pictures. We are going to need to get more draw space for our two girls who share a room. Have a blessed weekend.
Great effort on the room. Don't girls collect a heap of junk? Plus I find that sometimes they grow so fast that you are having to cull clothes that have been hardly worn.
Have a great day!

You did exactly what I'm just chomping at the bit to do. I have one bedroom in my house that is going to drive me over the brink if I don't fix it. My two boys share a room but it is also the room for my husband to keep his stuff in, too. Our bedroom has this dinky teeny little closet. So I'm just like you (except your way ahead of me) I'm on a mission to get another dresser and brink this room back to some kind of form of neatness.
It looks like you did a great job!

Our girls share a small room too! I know what you mean.... The dressers are so cute and it looks so nice and organized!
We keep our thermostat at 68 too... I've toyed with going lower, but usually bump it back up to 68?!?
Have a great weekend!

Hi there,
I am glad you all are getting settled in slowly. I am STILL unpaking and organizing from our move in Aril, lol. I am hoping to get the upstairs bathroom (right now aka as the storage room )cleaned out so my brother and hubby can install the bath tub, toilet, and sink soon. I sure know about the chore training. It is a on going training. [0;
