An E-mail from my Grandmother
My grandmother will be 93 years old in a couple of months. She is still as busy as ever. My parents are there now for a visit and she sent me an email via my dad's laptop. I am assuming that she dictated it as I cannot imagine her at the keyboard. But you just never know! Here is a glimpse into her life:
Dear Karen,I will try to post a picture later. She is indeed one of the sweetest people on the earth.
We miss you. Will be glad when you and your family can come for a visit. How is everyone there? Dixie [my mom] brought me some pictures of the kids. They sure are growing up. When does school start there? It starts August 5 here.We are looking for Carolyn [my aunt] home Monday night. Will be glad to see her. She has to go back home the 5th to get ready for her school. This week was the last week of her summer school. I have been busy in the garden and with the dolls. Today I got an order for 43 and they want them right away. Will try to get them in the mail the last of the week. Had most of them done except for 4 dresses, 8 slips, 5 panties and 1 boy outfit. And 16 caps for the Shaker girl dolls. I got all that cut out tonight and will have to sew them up tomorrow. I have been canning green beans. 12 quarts so far. Have started drying apples. Dixie wants some of them. And lots of applesauce. It is a good thing that the tree is loaded this year.
Come see me when you can. Remembering John in my prayers for his job application.
Give my love to all.
Ma

Hope I'm that spry if and when I ever make it to 93. :-)
Wow, talk about the Proverbs 31 woman! I don't even think I could get all that done NOW, let alone when I'm 93. You are very blessed to have such a sweet, caring grandma in your life for all of these years!
Oh my goodness! I want to be like her when I'm 93. She's amazing!
Wow what a woman. I would be impressed no matter what age, but really 93 - amazing. I can't wait to see a picture.
What a blessing! I just visited my 92 year old grandma, she's in a nursing home, and can't even carry on a conversation to that degree.
You may see a photo and her dolls at http://www.aworldwide.com/dolls
Have a great day!
Love,
Dad
