How Do I Look?
I have had a couple of people mention that my blog takes a long time to load. I cleaned up my sidebars a little bit today but beyond that, I really do not know what to do. I'd like to know if you are having any problems loading my blog. Do you use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox? How does the font look? Too big, too small, too hard on the eyes? Any other comments? Now is the time to tell me the good, the bad and the ugly. Even those of you who never comment!

Hi Karen! I usually read "For Such a Time as Now" through Google reader, but I clicked on over to see how fast it would load - and I must admit that it took a very long time. I use IE. It is probably the blogrolls that are the culprit. That is one of the reasons I don't have blogrolls in my sidebar anymore.
Hey Karen - it was taking a little while to load - but I am patient. I read using Google Reader - but hop over here to comment and sometimes it is a bit sluggish. But today it loaded lightening fast.
I had to do the same recently. My sidebars had a lot of outside sites that they had to communicate with so I tidied up.
I use IE, but usually read using Google Reader, unless I want to leave a comment, in which case I click over. When I do, your page seems to pop up right away, but then it takes a while before I can start scrolling down to the comments section. Does that mean it is still loading? If so, then I guess it's still a problem, because the same thing happened today. I just thought maybe you had a whole slew of people trying to read your blog at the same time. LOL
P.S. I like your font. Your blog is very easy on my eyes, which I really appreciate. It's so frustrating when I go to some of the other blogs I enjoy reading and the font size and combination of colors makes it really hard for me to read.
Mozilla - no problem loading - a second or two before the background color comes up so that I can read the font - which is a good size.
I like the aesthetics of it. For some reason yours does load a bit slower for me than others' - the only reason I've noticed this is because it's difficult to read UNTIL the light blue background for the entry comes up - prior to that I can see your entry text (which is a nice font and size) over the dark blue patterned background image and can't read it well. But it's a matter of waiting seconds, not minutes, for me and my DSL.
d'oh I forgot to answer your actual question - I use Safari on my Mac to read your blog.
When I used Explorer it was impossible to load, but now with Firefox it doesn't take as long, but takes a little longer than most. You're worth the wait.
Your blog loaded much more quickly than normal this morning. It was nice!

I use Google Reader, but when I popped over to your blog, it loaded very slowly (Firefox3).
Well, it sat for a while (trying to load something) and then everything arrived at once. So there is still some element that is holding back your text and text background from loading. My guess is the "From the Blogosphere" on the right. Everything on the left loads right away.
