Tired

Do you ever have one of those days where you have way too much to do but absolutely no strength to get anything accomplished? I need to pack for camp. We are leaving on Monday. The laundry is not done yet and the house is a mess.

I haven't just been sitting idle though. This morning we were all out of the house by 8:30. We went to a summer festival where our church had a booth set up. We passed out ice cold bottles of water and information about our church. Hannah and some others painted faces and we signed kids up for a drawing for a watergun. I was prepared for a hot summer day but we were blessed with clouds. The clouds also brought some rain but it didn't seem to bother the crowds. The sun came out by lunch time and I began melting almost as fast as the ice. I found a spot in the shade and there was a breeze from time to time.

I took Holly to get her hair cut right after the festival. Her hair was midway down her back and very thick. We were dealing with constant tangles. She has been wanting to grow it out even longer but I made an executive decision to cut it short. She can grow it out when she's older and wants to brush it herself. It looks really cute.

Well, I have got to put a load of laundry in the machine. Imagine 100 years ago. That would sound like a dream, wouldn't it?

I made the same executive decision with my daughter's hair as well. I figure when she's old enough to take care of it then she can have long hair, until then it will be a little more user friendly for Mom. Now that we've had it cut she loves it. And I love that getting ready in the morning is long longer a cryfest when it comes to doing her hair.

Oh boy do I know where you are coming from, and honestly, it seems to get worse when I have something I need to be doing (like packing).
For me, I think it's because the task is so overwhelming that my body just slips into low gear...

Get some rest! It's amazing how much you can get done in a short period of time when you are RESTED. There's always tomorrow (er... later today!).

I have lots of those days. But it sounds like you really did do quite a lot.
In this house, the same executive decision is made - but for my son. It is popular now for the boys to grow out their hair, but I keep making him cut his because he really can't take care of it. It is thick, wavy and has two cowlicks. When he is older he can wear it how he wants, but as long as I still have to remind him to use shampoo and a hairbrush I get to choose!

I totally understand being too tired. It's not always easy. But rest is important - I find I work better if I'm rested.
