Busy Day!

I love a day when I get a lot accomplished and today was one of those. It started out with a homeschool planning "retreat". Some of the moms in our homeschool group met this morning. We had a short devotional time and then had three hours of uninterrupted planning time. Afterwards we enjoyed lunch together at a nearby restaurant. Later I took Hannah and Holly to the park for a while and then on to get my hair cut. I was desperate for a haircut and almost took the scissors to it myself. That would have been disastrous! Hannah had fun snapping pictures at both places.
We went from there to the mall where I bought myself a couple of outfits for school. There was a nice sale going on - added bonus! Hannah found a nice skirt and top for herself. We were in an area of town where gas was cheaper so I filled up the tank! Came home and ate a late dinner and threw in a load of laundry. Then it was time to pick Gabriel up from work. Whew! Time to relax . . .

How was your day?

Today was Dash's 9th birthday! So after we ran out to let him pick out a b-day cake (ummm... can you say lazy momma?), we ate lunch at home and opened cards and gifts. The boys played video games to celebrate the special day. And Tax-Free weekend made us want to stay home to avoid the crowds! Then our dog got bit on the nose by a copperhead snake so we had to take her to the animal ER. She's doing much better now and resting.

And somehow it is the end of the day. Where does the time go?!

I like your idea of a planning day/morning and then lunch with friends. I'll have to remember that for next year!

cute picture!

Have you guys discovered the shaved ice/sno-cone place up at atlee station and sliding hill? We met another family up there last week and it was fun! Cheaper than icecream and the kid size is plenty...plus they have about fifty flavors. It's just a little place, but your family might like it.

What a wonderful idea for a mini-retreat!!
We've spent the day (after church) getting household and school stuff accomplished and getting ready for our new week.
Have a great week!
