A Short Note
A short note while I have a moment. Yesterday we spent the entire day organizing and cleaning. We were able to accomplish a lot and this time, I didn't end up shoving a bunch of things in our bedroom. It still needs work, especially the new homeschool materials. But I won't die of humiliation if someone opens my door. I am getting more organized, one baby step at a time.
John's brother and family arrived last night. We have had a leisurely morning. Later the adults are going out to eat while the kids stay at home and have some frozen pizza. This afternoon we are planning on swimming.
Would someone please tell me what happened to the summer? It's not my favorite season but I didn't want it to go by that quickly. I begin my substitute job in less than 2 weeks! There are so many things left to do. I promised Holly that we would do some paper mâché and I want to do some more cooking with her. And that's just the beginning of what I haven't done yet! What are you hoping to do before the summer is gone?

I agree...summer has passed all too quickly. (Though I am ready for cooler weather.) I like your idea of not starting school until October. It's not something I'm able to do, but I envy you. (So would Candace; that's why I didn't tell her what you're doing. LOL!) Let's pray God blesses our time so that it won't pass too quickly and we can enjoy each moment.

Well the summer is flying by here too! I want it to slow down! I hope you have got your bite fixed- I went through that just recently- kind of a pain- literally.
I made a list of things to do at the beginning of summer so that I would milk it for all it was worth. :-) Needless to say, I haven't accomplished everything, but we have had a fun and memorable summer. Some things I still need to do? Well... I promised a friend of our boys that I would write a story about him, I would like to read a "fun" book before our homeschool begins, and I still need to get our hs supplies organized. Yes, the summer is going by too quickly! :-)
Yes, summer is fading fast, and we LOVE summer here ~ with a really hard winter last winter and a very late spring, we are really not ready for all this - I need at least another 2 months of summer please! What I need to do yet? Well, we are in the thick of harvest, so even though I have canned 85 quarts of green beans and some tomatoes, I will probably have another canner full of tomatoes next week, then it's on to carrots, onions, potatoes, herbs. We will start school Sept. 8th, because we are going to our favorite waterpark in WI the first week in Sept. & going camping the week after we start. PLUS, I'd love to paint my family room yet before we have to shut the windows up. And oh yes, I want to sell a bunch of homeschool books to make room for the new ones. I need to go lay down now. lol
