Substitute Job - Continued

Yesterday morning I went to the school to observe the special needs class. There are 11 very active, very needy children, 2 or 3 per table. Each table has an aid to help keep them focused or simply keep them quiet so that the others can attempt to accomplish their tasks. It will be a challenge but I told the principal that I am interested. I have a meeting with her on Friday morning.

Thank you for your prayers for my brother. He is doing much better. Yesterday he was able to have liquids and eat some popsicles. Today's scrumptious fare included dry toast and crackers. He should be able to go home tomorrow. Total recovery will take weeks and involves another surgery later.

News

Remember the substitute job that I have next Monday? It turns out that the teacher is expecting and the principal is looking for a board sub (long term). Board subs are paid double and have all the responsibilities of the regular teacher - lesson plans, faculty meetings, etc. I can certainly use the double payment plus the regular work for six weeks straight. I am going in tomorrow, if I don't have another sub job, to observe the class and see if it's something I am interested in.

My brother Dave went to the emergency room on Friday night. He thought he had appendicitis. The doctors at the ER agreed that was the problem and took him in to surgery. When they opened him up, they found a healthy appendix and a ruptured diverticulum. He is now recovering from surgery with some minor complications. (Is that an oxymoron?) The original word was that they expected him to go home on Tuesday or Wednesday. I do not know if that is still the case. Your prayers are appreciated.
