Movies

I rarely see a movie in the theater. I don't think that I have ever seen two, two days in a row. But that's exactly what I did this past weekend. For my birthday, Hannah took me to see Fireproof on Saturday. It's a chick flick with enough action to keep the guys happy. Bring your tissues. Yesterday afternoon John and I took Gabriel and Hannah to see An American Carol. It's a comedy. The kind of slapstick humor that I don't usually care for but it kept me laughing. There was one of place in particular (that I remember) that was unnecessarily crude and a some words that could have been left out. Otherwise, it was a really fun movie. Both of these will be on my Christmas list!

Conflicted

I found out today that the teacher, who had a c-section, will return either on Dec. 3rd or Dec. 10th. I am conflicted on whether to pray for the earlier date so that I can have this over with or for the later date for the extra, still needed money. The stress and fatigue are almost more than I can stand. Thankfully tomorrow is a student holiday. I will still go to school but without most of the stress. I am in need of a good, laugh until you cry comedy this weekend. Anyone have a suggestion?

The Answer

Having a teenage son, I sometimes watch movies that are not my preferred genre of romance and chick flicks. I have seen the complete series of The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and Spiderman and other action flicks. While I might not like the movie or the action, I do like the fact that my 16 year old son asks me to watch them with him. The movie with the refrigerator magnets with the phrase "u can save her" is from this movie - rated PG-13 for things blowing up, people dying and typical action movie type stuff. I actually liked the movie and it's one I will watch again - even if I am more of a chick flick type person.

Hooray for Laurie! You guessed it right!! (Do you have a new blog?)
